Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children in need and to assist them in achieving their highest potential by facilitating a professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships with a committed volunteer.

Big Brothers Big Sisters helps vulnerable children beat the odds.

The organization depends on donations to help recruit volunteers and reach more children. Funding is used to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships. Big Brothers Big Sisters is proven to improve children’s odds for succeeding in school, behaving nonviolently, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and breaking negative cycles.

Located in Nashville and providing services to Davidson County and the contiguous counties, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee served 2,250 children in 2008. Learn how you can change how children grow up in Middle Tennessee by going to mentorakid.org or calling (615) 329-9191.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee is proud to be in the Midtown Mill Works Building, part of the Nashville Youth Opportunity Center, at 1704 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville. Our new home will eventually be shared by several Middle Tennessee non-profit organizations also serving our community's youth - the Oasis Center, STARS, and United Neighborhood Health Services to name a few.
