Help Us Recruit
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee we know our best ambassadors are the people who are in the Big Brothers Big Sisters family. Who better than those with a personal connection to the BBBS program to help us recruit new Bigs!
As excited as we are about all of the children who are being served this year we still look forward to the day when all children who want and need a mentor, have one. With a waiting list that hovers between 250 and 300 children, we need your help to find additional heroes like you so that we can give these deserving children the gift of a mentor.
So it is with some urgency we ask you to consider asking your friends, family members, colleagues, neighbors, church members – whoever you think would be a good Big Brother, Big Sister, or Big Couple – to consider enriching their lives by helping a child reach his or her potential. Speak from your own experience. Tell them why you support the program. Give them a couple reasons why you think they would make a great Big. By encouraging more people to spend as little as an hour a week enjoying fun and friendship with a child in our program, we really can change what it means to grow up in Middle Tennessee.
Lastly, don’t forget. You can invite a representative from Big Brothers Big Sisters to share information with your co-workers. We’ll provide a free lunch and your co-workers can learn more about our programs. We can’t thank you enough for all that you are already doing as a “Big”. Honor Roll!
If you are or have an Alpha man in front of you who is still on the fence about contributing to our organization, you can direct them to www.bbbs.org/alphaphialpha and have them take a look at the list of their Alpha brothers who have already stepped up! This could become the motivating factor. Current General President, Darryl R. Matthews has challenged them to step up, man up, follow up, and become a Big.
