Looking for other ways to volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Here’s a partial list of other volunteer opportunities.
become a donor
Funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee also comes from our very generous community members! The services we provide to the children of Middle Tennessee are made possible through donations generated from individual donors and donations to our special events. Visit our
DONATE page if you would like to make a financial contribution. See our
WISH LIST for in-kind donations we need as well. For more information contact Doug Halleen,
Doug.Halleen@bbbs.org.
refer friends and colleagues
One of the most important things our supporters can do is to help us spread the word about the great work Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee does. You can help us by referring friends and colleagues! You can also help us by inviting us to host an informational Lunch & Learn at your place of employment. Big Brothers Big Sisters will provide a free lunch for each employee in your office who would like to attend a lunch hour presentation to learn more about our agency. Check out
LUNCH & LEARN for a detailed description. For more information contact Chris Suitter at
chris.suitter@bbbs.org.
provide administrative support
Volunteer assistance with daily general administrative projects at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office, such as filing, file maintenance, assisting with large mailings, receptionist and visitor greeting, etc. For more information contact Wendy Perkins,
Wendy.Perkins@bbbs.org.
event volunteers
Big Brothers Big Sisters receives a large portion of our funding from annual special events. We are always looking for community members to participate in and help plan our many events. Big Brothers Big Sisters also relies on our dedicated day-of-event volunteers to help set up, greet and register guests, tear down, etc. Annual events include: Bowl for Kids' Sake, Team Rio, Franklin Wine Festival, and the Arby’s Charity Tour.
Local businesses can receive great marketing exposure and help us to underwrite the costs of our very popular special events as corporate or individual sponsors. Check out
SPECIAL EVENTS for opportunities and descriptions. For more information about Special Events, contact Sarah Beatty,
sarah.beatty@bbbs.org.
provide activities for our matches
We do our best to keep the cost incurred by our volunteers minimal. Donations of tickets to sporting events, concerts, and community events allow our Bigs and Littles to enjoy these activities together at no cost to the volunteers. Additionally, community members can host fun activities and outings for our matches, or donate such things as sports and outdoor equipment. To provide or sponsor Match activities, contact Wendy Perkins at
Wendy.Perkins@bbbs.org.
project support
Maybe you have a special skill, talent or you just want to volunteer your time. You could work on specific project with a clear time-line and end date. For more information contact Wendy Perkins,
Wendy.Perkins@bbbs.org.
